mirror.massars.net - Massar's Network Mirror
Welcome to Massar's Network Mirror Service.
This serves as a local mirror service, for allowing quick installation and updates of both OpenBSD, Debian and Ubuntu inside AS57777. Automated builds and testing goes much faster when installation is quick.
This service is available over plain HTTPS and HTTP (for when one does not have SSL Root CAs yet).
This service is anycasted in Lugano and Zurich, latency and throughput matter when installing.
This page is served from mirror.lug.ch.massars.net.
Service Speed
Inside AS57777 the service is provided at line rate speeds.
Outside AS57777 this mirror service is rate limited to 100 Mbit/s.
This is thus obviously not a speedtest server.
Target Audience
The target audience is users inside AS57777. Typically outside of AS57777 one should not be using it as there are much faster and complete mirrors out there. It also only carries mirrors of software that AS57777 users use regularly.
We suggest using services like mirror.init7.net which is connected with 20 Gbit/s and has a complete mirror of a lot more distributions.

Logging
Standard nginx logging and Debian log rotation and thus retention exist on this server. Log files are for operational reasons and won't be sold or otherwise distributed.
